WETLAND AND LAKES CHALLENGES

Dear All, 

Hope this gets you well. Am currently using SWAT+ model for groundwater recharge. The catchment under study is in Uganda and has 8 lakes and wetlands. Following the SWAT user manual, I was able to add lakes and all the wetlands in the catchment and run the model successfully. 

Upon visualizing the model with stream flow at the gauge station downstream, the model had an NSE of -994 which is very low. Made some modifications on the lakes and wetlands depth, this improved NSE from -994 to -17. 

The guidance i need is how to further improve the model performance before calibration to achieve a better NSE.
