Hello PM,
I suppose you want to add external inflow to you watershed. In this case you have to complete the following steps:
  1. Create desired inlets/point sources in wathersed delineation phase (1° step of QSWAT project setup)
  2. Once you have defined all the points you need, you have to prepare the inlet/point source discharge time series for all the points in which you want to simulate inflow. These time series files (.txt files) should include yearly, monthly or daily records. You can find some examples within the "ExInputs" folder (folder path: C:\SWAT\SWATEditor\Databases\ExInputs). The examples files you need are  "pointsdaily.txt" (daily records), "pointsmonthly.txt" (monthly records) and "pointsyearly.txt" (yearly records).
  3. Load the txt files for each inlet/point source using the SWATEditor menus "inlet discharges" or "point source discharges" under Edit SWAT input menu.
  4. Re-write the SWAT input files choosing the "point source/inlet" option in "Re-write SWAT input files" tab under Edit SWAT input menu.
Now you are ready to run your model with external inflows for each defined point source /inlet.

Hope this help you.

Best regards,
Nico

Hi Nico,

Thank you for the clear overview; it was very helpful. I know this was posted a long time ago, but perhaps you or someone else can help me with the following.

I followed your steps to enter the daily Inlet Discharge data for my inlet point in QSWAT, using the format in "pointsdaily.txt", as shown in the attached text file.
However, at step 3, I encounter the error: "Column 'DATE' does not belong to table tbITs."
I have tried a lot of different date formats (m/d/yyyy; d/m/yyyy, mm/dd/yyyy, m-d-yyyy, etc.) as proposed by other Google Group topics, but none seem to work.

Do you have a suggestion to fix this? Or maybe someone else has encountered a similar problem?
Thank you!

Kind regards,
Eva
