Hi,

QSB seems to have huge problems finding Applications on my Mac. For
example, typing any of the following into the search box gives nothing
except the Google Search action:
Finder
Acrobat
address book
calculator
... (many more)

Of course, all of these applications are in the /Applications folder
(and can be launched from Quicksilver easily). In fact, it seems QSB
will only find apps that I started once (with a double click from the
Finder) while QSB is running. I've tried this with a number of apps;
after having started and quit them again, QSB would suddenly know
them. Of course, for Finder this doesn't work. I also had at least one
app "Alarm Clock" that was not found by QSB even after starting it
manually.

I have the following (and only the following) "Searchable Items"
enabled in the preferences:
Address Book Contacts Source
Application UI Source
Applications Source
Desktop Folder
Documents Folder
Downloads Folder
Recent Applications and Documents

I'm on a unibody Macbook with an up-to-date MacOS X 10.5.7. I have
FileVault active.

Do you have spotlight enabled on your drives? We actually use
Spotlight to find applications right now.

Cheers,
Dave

No, I did not have spotlight enabled. I enabled it now, and that seems
to fix the problem. On the other hand, maybe it would be better to
find applications directly, not through spotlight.

In any case, QSB looks extremely promising... keep up the good work!

Thanks!
Michael
