QRV Android Beta: Notifications are Live!

Hello testers,

I promise not to abuse this mailing list; I will only send you an email when there is a very big update or other important news. For small changes, I will use the Changelog in the app.

Premium/Purchases

You may have noticed a Premium section in Settings. If you like, please try to purchase a Lifetime subscription. You will not be charged. This helps me test my receipt system and the purchase flow. You can also let the 14-day trial expire naturally; you will see some reminders once you are within 3 days of expiry.

Notifications

Notifications are now ready to test. If you use QRV on Apple devices, the notification configuration will not sync (that's coming later). You can set them up for the following:

• General band activity (low/medium/high sensitivity)
• DXCC (customize by band)
• DXpeditions (customize by band)
• Callsigns (customize by band)
• Lightning near you

You can get to notifications a few ways:

1. Go to Settings → Notifications
2. Look up a callsign; add the alert there
3. Look up a DXpedition in the calendar view; add the alert there
4. Look up a DXCC entity (or long press on it in Live Spots); add the alert there

Please let me know if you have trouble setting up alerts, if they disappear, or if I could make it more Android-like. The notification system is very different than iOS, so I'm learning as I go.

Other Notes

As I just mentioned, I am new to Android development. I want the app to feel familiar to people who have used it on Mac, iPad, or iPhone, but I also want it to feel native to Android. If you see things that are a little off – things that don't work "the Android way" – please let me know!
