Hi all,
Thanks for agreeing to test QRV on Android. It's live on Google Play now, and there are two steps to get it:
- Opt in here: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.getqrv.android
- Install QRV from Google Play as usual. Updates arrive automatically from then on.
Both steps are needed… the opt-in link is what actually unlocks the download. This group serves as the member-list for Google.
QRV has been on iOS for a while; this is the Android version, rewritten natively in Kotlin. Everything is unlocked for the duration of the beta: no account, no ads, nothing asking for payment.
Features that are ready:
- band conditions and live spots from your grid
- callsign lookup with QRZ or HamQTH, including QSO history if you connect a logbook.
- POTA and SOTA activations
- DXpeditions
- band plans for 21 countries
- calculators and reference
Things that aren't in the Android version yet: - push alerts
- home-screen widgets
- in-app help
Google won't let QRV reach the public Play Store until a minimum number of testers stay opted in continuously for two weeks. Leaving and rejoining resets that count rather than adding to it, so staying installed for the duration — even if you don't open it daily — is genuinely the most useful thing you can do.
If you notice anything wrong, please reply here, post to the group, or email
sup...@getqrv.com. Your device model and Android version help a bunch. I'm looking for everything: broken, slow, confusion, ugly. I'm especially interested if something doesn't feel "Androidy." I want this app to be first-class!
