CW With The Minion-Mini

I have ordered the Mini and it has shipped at this time.  While waiting for it to ship, I am working on learning and improving CW.  Is there any way on the Mini to use a key but not have it actually transmit?  That way, once it comes, I can hook up my key to it and have a more realistic way to practice.  I guess I could put a dummy load on it, but I have seen online that with some other radios you can turn the transmit power down to zero (which I am pretty certain is not something the Mini can do), or mess with VOX settings to get it to produce a side-tone but not actually transmit.  Any thoughts?

There may be a way to do this, but I haven't given it any thought. If I figure out a way, I'll be sure to post it. I've been thinking about picking up a code oscillator from MFJ to practice with. I'm sure you'll enjoy the MINION, for being minimal, I think it beats out all the other radios for simplicity and ease of use. -Robert/WA7SON

The user menu option "CW KEY TX" set in "No". And you can practice use a key in the mode CW.
