Dear Friends,

I am hoping that someone can help me. For 2017, measure 226 wasn't a stratified measure and now it appears to be so for 2018. I need to update my JSON payload to submit this information, but I am lost in the API documentation this year as to how to format the JSON payload for measure 226. It now has “screened for use,” “overall,” and “tobacco” numbers.

Can someone send me a sample of how the 226 measure should be formatted in JSON for 2018? A pointer to the specific spec for that would be helpful as well.

Thanks in advance,

Jack

Hi Jack,

It's just formatted like any regular multi-performance rate measure: https://cmsgov.github.io/qpp-submissions-docs/measurements#multi-performance-rate-measurements

Just make sure you include the right info with the appropriate strata. If you have more specific questions about what goes in which strata, refer to the measure specification and reach out to the CMS Help Desk at Q...@cms.hhs.gov

Sarah,

https://cmsgov.github.io/qpp-submissions-docs/measurements#multi-performance-rate-measurements is really helpful, but can you point me at a valid sample JSON payload for a multi performance measure? A sample 226 would be fantastic, but a fully formed example of any of those would be good. So, I'd love to see a JSON payload that ties the multi-performance rate measurement with the multi-performance rate stratum? The "All cause readmission measurements" has a fully fleshed sample under the JSON resource representation for example.

Thanks for your patience and help,

Jack

Hi Jack,

The stratum values are also included in the Developer Documentation: https://cmsgov.github.io/qpp-submissions-docs/measurements#stratum. I recommend searching the Google Group for examples of multi performance rate measures, including 226, if it's helpful to see how others are submitting. For example, the attachment in this thread show what that measure looks like fully formed - https://groups.google.com/forum/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=footer#!searchin/qpp-apis/multi$20performance$20rate|sort:date/qpp-apis/qa6xmfKIb04/6o6UTR4HDwAJ

You can test these out anytime in the Developer Preview Swagger website: https://preview.qpp.cms.gov/api/submissions/public/docs/

Sarah,

Thanks so much for the help. That was exactly what I needed and I was able to push the multi performance measure "226" to the test bed. Thank you!!!

That said, I have one last question for you..... In looking at the below thread you mention of https://groups.google.com/forum/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=footer#!searchin/qpp-apis/multi$20performance$20rate|sort:date/qpp-apis/qa6xmfKIb04/6o6UTR4HDwAJ and I see that there is no non-strata based performancerate or reportingrate in the payload there for measure "226" in the "request.txt" file. I see in the payload response in this posting: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/qpp-apis/euSSDV-DkwI/H9XUWvJoAgAJ a performancerate or reportingrate, however. In fact, my test payload response included a reportingrate and performancerate that comes back from the API also. I looked at the https://raw.githubusercontent.com/CMSgov/qpp-measures-data/9f1d5b7f28554b086367ad9d1b258c646ec1f69b/measures/2018/measures-data.json file, and it seems like I don't need to specify the non-strata based performancerate or reportingrate for measure "226". It looks like they are being calculated for me from the strata data I submit. Is that correct?

Thanks!

Jack

Correct! For MIPS measures the API calculates those fields. If you submit that in a request, we'll just ignore them. You can review which fields are writable and optional in our Developer Documentation per metric type here: https://cmsgov.github.io/qpp-submissions-docs/measurements#multi-performance-rate-measurements
