Hello,

I am a new analyst, and I am unable to locate the strata names for a few of the measures in the 2018 measure-data XML and JSON:

  • 005
  • 008
  • 418
  • 438
Are the above mentioned measures truly multi-strata measures, and if so, where can we find the correct strata names? I have been using the files available here: https://github.com/CMSgov/qpp-measures-data/tree/master/measures/2018

Thank you!
Minori

Hi Minori,

If a measure is a multi performance rate measure it will specify that in the repository (which you've linked too) in the measure's metricType field. If it is a multiPerformanceRate or registryMultiPerformanceRate, then the strata names will appear a little farther down the measure object.

All of the measures you've listed are single performance rates so there are no strata to report.

Thank you Sarah! Since each of these measures has multiple numerator/denominator submission criteria, how would we go about submitting the performanceRate? Should it be a weighted average?

Thank you!

Hi Minori,

You should follow the specific instructions per their measure specifications. Exactly how to do that is a policy question and not an API question. I'd suggest contacting CMS at Q...@cms.hhs.gov for assistance.
