CMS has three resources which you can use to test your ability to create a QRDA III file that:
  • Complies with the 2017 Implementation Guide, and
  • Can be successfully converted by CMS to the QPP JSON format used by the Quality Payment Program

1. QRDA III Conversion Tool Web App
The first tool is a web application where you can either drag and drop, or select from your computer, a QRDA III XML file and have it converted to QPP JSON. If your file cannot be converted, you will receive detailed feedback.
https://qpp.cms.gov/developers/conversion-tool-sandbox

2. QRDA III Conversion Tool Open Source Package
The second is an open source package which developers can download and use to create their own conversion application or function for their software.
https://github.com/CMSgov/qpp-conversion-tool

3. QRDA III Conversion API Endpoint
API Developer Preview participants can test submitting QRDA III files via the API by using the /converter endpoint. Read our documentation to learn more about how to formulate requests to this endpoint. (Note that this link only serves as documentation, and you cannot actually test the /converter endpoint using that link.)

Note that none of these tools have the same functionality as the SEVT or Cypress tools and cannot be used to test QRDA III files against the full range of possible industry uses.

Johathan, we have some clients that will uploading the mips qpp in xml format. Our other clients will be doing the QRDA III route. Can they submit the QRDA III files like we did last year and not have to run them thru a conversion tool?

Hi Chandini,

https://qpp.cms.gov/developers/conversion-tool-sandbox is a web application where you can either drag and drop, or select from your computer, a QRDA III XML file and have it converted to QPP JSON. If your file cannot be converted, you will receive detailed feedback.

If you need further guidance, please specify what type of guidance you require, and I can either try to answer your questions or refer you to the right CMS help resource.

Thanks,
Ivana

Hi Ivana,

We built a complete interface around the API and we have been using the QRDAIII file Online converter and has been working fantastic until Today.

We are getting the following error:

{"timestamp":1517417112015,"status":500,"error":"Internal Server Error","exception":"org.springframework.web.client.ResourceAccessException","message":"I/O error on POST request for \"https://qpp.cms.gov/api/submissions/public/validate-submission\": qpp.cms.gov; nested exception is java.net.UnknownHostException: qpp.cms.gov","path":"/"}

We tried to submit a QRDAII file for conversion to: https://qpp.cms.gov/api/submissions/converter

And also drag and dropped the QRDAIII file in the sandbox: https://qpp.cms.gov/developers/conversion-tool-sandbox

Both are giving the same error so I figure the converter is down.

Could you please tell us when will this be back online, we have been using the converter without issues until now.

Thank you and best regards,
