Hello members and friends
If you've been wondering what you can do to contribute to Queanbeyan Players, here's your opportunity. There will be a Working Bee at the shed (18 Barrow Place, Queanbeyan) on Sunday 23rd August from 11am, to clear out some old pieces of set. (Currently there isn't enough room to begin working on the set for Yeomen of the Guard!) Bring lunch, power tools if you have them, and a sense of humour. Norma Roach has promised to bring Anzac biscuits (if you weren't sure about coming before, that should convince you!). Ring Norma on 6297 1108 for more information (about the working bee, not about the Anzac biscuits).
Having worked hard on the 23rd, you'll all deserve a treat on the following weekend. Rodney Clancy is conducting the U3A Orchestra in a concert in the Queanbeyan Uniting Church at 2pm on Sunday 30 August. The program will include Schubert and Dvorak dances, the Hebrides Overture and Nutcracker Ballet music. Entry is free, though gold coin donations would be appreciated. If you would like more information, ring Geoff McCubbin on 6297 2877.
Your next issue of Prologue is due in September - send any news or items for inclusion to

Bye for now
