Volunteers still needed to help with After Prom 2013: The Best Party in Town!

It is that time of year again, Prom and the After Prom Party. Prom is Friday night, May24th, so the After Party begins Saturday morning, May 25thfrom 12:30 AM to 5:00 AM. This is truly a monumental effort and we need close to 100 parents to help with set up, staffing the party, and clean up. We have a variety of volunteer time slots and activities, so there’s something for everyone!

Once Again,I have created a volunteer signup sheet through Signup Genius. You will need to go to the site www.signupgenius.com and join for FREE using your email address and a password. After you have joined, go to FIND A SIGN UP! You will haveto enter my email address rlev...@us.loreal.com to find the sign up file Quince Orchard After Prom 2013.

Once you have found the signup file, please sign up to Volunteer for one of the requested volunteer activities and/or to donate food or drinks. Please make sure to include you name, email address and phone number under the comments section when you RSVP to volunteer.

This year we have many new activities. Please see a description on the items that we need Volunteers to sign up for below.

Preparing for the Party:

Setup and Decoration: We need volunteers to help set up for the party from 5 PM to 10 PM on Friday evening. We need you if you have a flair for decorating and balloon inflating. Middle school and high school students are welcome to help as well, as long as a parent brings them. NOTE: Volunteers are encouraged to bring ladders if you have them.

Baking/Food Donations: We need volunteers to bake/bring

desserts and donate specific goods (from Costco).

Gatorade, Soda, Snacks, $$: We need cases of Gatorade, soda, and breakfast bars. We will always accept cash or gift cards for local businesses which will be put to good use as door prizes.

Food Set Up:We also need people that can help set up the food tables a few hours before the party begins. We also need help during the day on Friday for pick up and shopping.

Working at the Party:

Casino: We need several volunteers to run casino games such as Texas Holdem, Blackjack, etc.

Entertainment Activities: Most of the Activities located in the Big Gym are going to be run by the Entertainment Company, but we need parent volunteers to encourage student participation, monitor the activities and ensure good sportsmanship. We also need parents to run the Cotton Candy and Popcorn machines. We will also need a floater to interact with the kids, asking trivia questions (gift card prizes) where there are long lines.

Registration: We need several people to help with registering the students as they enter the Party and managing the “coat and purse check” area.

Food Pick Up & Serving: We need several people to pick up food donations from local vendors and others to serve food during the party. And we even have a few slots open for “late night drivers” who can pick up food from iHOP around 1:30 a.m. and bring it back to QO.

Prizes:A few volunteers are needed to assist with the door prize process throughout the night. We award many, many prizes which increases both students’ interest and excitement during the party, and encourages party go-ers to stay ‘til the end.

Bouncers: We need a few gentlemen who can staff the entrance and exits and help ensure that those who enter and those who exit do so properly.

Parking Lot Security: These volunteers man the parking lots and ensure safe arrival and departure of the students and that there is no unlawful activities occurring. This involves monitoring the parking lot for loitering as well as watching the gym back doors for party crashers.

After the AfterProm:

Cleanup: You probably will not be surprised to know that if you get a lot of parents together for an all-night party, there will be quite a mess afterwards! These fine volunteers arrive around 4:00 a.m., bright-eyed and bushy tailed, relieving the exhausted all-night volunteers, eagerly clean up the mess, and return borrowed equipment to local vendors.

So, if you can help out in any way, please consider it! Just think of the bragging rights you will have at work on Monday morning!

Thank you so much for your help in advance.

Let’s make this years After Prom the BEST EVER!
