PTSA Meeting Highlights

Our first PTSA was held last evening in the QOHS media center. It was a small turnout. 

We discussed budget proposals, PTA membership, and volunteer shortages vital to our PTSA programs. 

We heard from area cluster representatives, where important matter  were discussed, including Governor Hogans push for the first day of school to begin the day after Labor Day, 2017.

I shared information about a QO cluster sponsored documentary titled "Screenagers" addressing our children and effects of excessive time spent in front of a screen, tv, videogame, etc. The documentary discusses the correlation of attitudes, anger, stress and demeanor displayed by kids and teens. The movie will be shown at Northwest HS, on 18 October.  

We have already planned our second PTSA meeting, combined with a review of ACT SAT Mock results. A proposal to reschedule the PTSA meeting until 25 October, was considered to allow attendance to the "Screenagers" presentation.

There are many more high lights that will be forwarded in the meeting minutes.

We are in desperate need of volunteers to chair and co-chair events. A fews hours makes the difference? Won't you consider our programs?

This September 24th Catalyst Prep Bootcamp was cancelled due to enrollment. Look for future opportunities.
