How do you help someone who doesn't think they have any defects?

CAN you help someone that doesn’t think they have any defects?   First you have to get them to see through the denial which is probably the hardest part.  When my wife was at Fairbanks she said they would take them to drug court so that they could mirror the behaviors that had gotten them to Fairbanks.  She said it was quite eye opening.   I might try in a loving way to let them know what their defects are but until they are ready to hear it I’d just be wasting my breath.

Love,

Jon P.

Patiently wait until they do something really far off the reservation and suggest that it might be the result of XYZ defect of character, My guess is that Denial will automatically kick in and then you have the opporunity to point that out as well. Besides continuing to piss them off by trying to change them there's not much else anyone can do besides pray for them to GET IT ;)  Defects are like assholes..Everyone has one and most of the time it Stinks at some point in time and can only be cured once it has been recognized.
