What has been the most important thing you've learned during your recovery. The greatest awakening

I have learned so much in recovery, about myself, about relationships, about being a human being, it is difficult to say which is the most important.  However I think the essence of it all is as simple as I never have to use again.

Love,

Jon P.

I'm just one of the bunch, accepting my liabilities and my assets. The best part has been recognizing that I have become a part of instead of a part from, connected in many ways to those around me.
Have a good day,

I have learned so many powerful lessons in recovery that I can easily lose sight of the first and biggest one. There was HUGE freedom when I first realized I could actual function without using. I still was in the grip of the obsession at that point but the weight that was lifted when I saw that I could get though a day and actually function without getting loaded it was an incredible relief. All of the other lessons came as a result of this one.

For me, the fact that I am not alone has been the most important. Finding a Higher Power of my own followed that!  Being clean and sober followed that! Surviving tragedy and success and happiness without using followed that! Living with dignity followed that! Being able to share with others followed that! What y'all said!  I always thought the greatest message we could ever carry would be  "You and not alone!"

That no matter how much or how often I try I am always going to be powerless over my disease and every other thing that happens in my life and that this is God's design for me to live life according to His terms and as long as I Accept that and stay on His path Life stays pretty Damn good JFT.
