How does one plan for the future without becoming invested in the outcomes? Why plan if the outcome is out of your hands?

If I don't make plans then I am guaranteed that nothing will change.  And if the outcome is out of my hands I may not get what I want but I might get what I need.

I make the plans and leave the who, what, how and why to my H.P. 80% of the time and 20% of the time I still want to manipulate and scheme to get my outcome. I've been praying and meditating for so long long that letting go and letting God is almost second nature but I still love it when something totally unexpected happens and He shows me that I may not always get what I want to have happen but I most likely will get what needs to happen like Jon shared. I chose to simply make plans and let my H,P, take care of the rest because it's what WORKS.
