How long did it take you to get through the steps the first time? Were you comfortable with that time?

Two and a half years. I was pretty uncomfortable for my first three years but I hung in there.

Like Bob, I also took about 2-1/2 years to work through the steps the first time. That's how long it took me to be thorough. I am comfortable with that length of time, but I had no lasting comfort in my life until I worked through the steps a couple of more times after that. Some of us are sicker than others I guess.
Take care, Neal

It took two and a half years to get all the way through the first time.  I was told that it wasn’t a race and I felt like I  needed to be thorough to set a good foundation for future step work.  I was comfortable with the amount of time it took, I wasn’t in any hurry and I think I understood from the start that it was going to take however long it was going to take to get it done.   My sponsor and I hadn’t set any kind of time table for completion.

Love,

Jon P.

Wow you guys were race horses compared to me. I didn't do my first 4th step till I was forced into it by the court in a visitation battle with the Ex wife at around 3 1/2 years clean and I took another 2 years after that to get through them. My first sponsor was starting to get a little concerned but never pushed me to go faster and after having gone through them with my second sponsor We determined I was pretty darn thorough the first time and today I am totally comfortable with where I am in my step work.
