Counter Protest

[Queer Ontario]

Hi everyone – In response to the second iteration of the “1 Million March for Children,” a series of nation-wide anti-trans and anti-queer protests happening across the country tomorrow (September 20), 2SLGBTQIA+ activists are once again mobilizing for a number of counter protests nationwide. 

This year, the Toronto counter protest is being organized by Students for Queer Liberation and will be at Queen’s Park from 7 AM to 6 PM. Several other groups and organizations, including Queers4Palestine Toronto, the Ontario Federation of Labour, and the Ontario Public Service Employees Union have encouraged their members to attend and support the counter protest. 

 

Standing against the anti-trans and anti-queer discourse of “parental rights,” and to show support for our communities on issues such as 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusive education, youth pronoun use in K-12 schools, and gender affirming healthcare, members of Queer Ontario will be there to push back!

 

This year, with anti-trans and anti-queer rhetoric increasingly virulent, we encourage all supporters to join!
