Hi Everyone,

I hope you are all well and keeping warm.

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of long-time Queer Ontario Steering Committee member Richard Hudler.

Richard passed away this past Sunday, January 25, 2026.  A kind, generous and soft-spoken man that belied his courage and strength as a long standing queer activist in this province.  His past work included leadership roles with the Homophile Association of London, Ontario (HALO), the Coalition for Lesbian and Gay Rights in Ontario (CLGRO) and Queer Ontario since its inception.

Richard will be greatly missed.  Discussions are underway to host a Celebration of Life event.  Stay tuned for details to come.
