I'm using the Waves GEQ Modern mono plug-in on my device outputs for speaker equalization. It has a side-chain input to its graphic equalizer that would be very useful if I could run a mic to it. Is it possible to access the side-chain input in Qlab 3?

Thanks, Dan

Hi Dan,

I can’t say that I’m familiar with this plugin. but I don’t believe there is a way to send a way to send a side-chain input.  To be perfectly honest I’ve not ever really explored side-chain inputs. Something for me to learn about for the future!

The other really useful thing for plugins inserted on cue or device outputs would be the ability to send MIDI program changes, and cc data, to them. This would increase their usefulness exponentially. At the moment if you want 10 different reverbs at different points in your show (and the plugin you want to use wont work as a cue effect) you need to have 10 reverb effects runnimg continuosly on different busses, which is a significant hit on performance.

If you could send MIDI to the plugins you would only need one instance running.
