Hi there.

Goal: Play only one video cue on all screens
Problem: No custom resolution on partial screen

Any tips or ways to do this proper?

Thanks.

Screen setup like this:

Projector placement like this: (Connected in another surface for front FX like snow etc)

Creating this surface nearly gets me there, but 1/4 resolution is wrong:

Hi Aksel,

Thanks for your email.

I think in this case you may be trying to use partial screens in a case where they are not helpful.

The reason to use partial screens is if you have an output device (like a Matrox device) which appears to be one screen to OS X, but is actually 2 or 3 physical screens.

In this case, I think you are instead trying to limit the projection to a particular area of the full projector.

In this case I would recommend using three separate surfaces and using the "shutters" to pull in the sides for projectors 1 and 3.

You can find the shutters by moving the mouse near the edges of the surface. You can then drag the edge in and the outer part of the surface will appear dark gray:

Then projector 1 and 3 will be separate surfaces, and you can send video to each one of them.

Does that help?

Best,
Chris

Thanks Chris, I didn't know about the shutters.

There will be one videocue per surface, right? This can be quite heavy on the SSD/CPU. Under testing it seems like 3x on CPU compare to one surface with partial screens.

Best,
Aksel
