I'm setting up a project that requires (4) 1920x1080 projectors.  Has anyone used the Matrox Quad Head 2 Go?   If so...how did it perform?  Any issues?

Thanks for any input!

I did. I used a quad and a triple on the same system giving me 7 outputs.
All depends on the system you’re using and what the graphics card can handle. You could always use an external graphics processor to up your processing power. The quad was very easy to use.

I have 2 triple head2go units from  curious incident. I had to use older macs (towers).  I don’t know what version of os they will work on now.  They worked great.  I took the video card out of another Mac tower and ran one unit off each and a master screen.   Used it for another project and ran another tower via OSC to run 8 projectors plus a control screen on both.   If they work on your Mac they’re great.

I also have used a triple head2go. It worked great for the first year or two but now it doesn't work. It failed on me opening night of a show. I had to scramble to get a secondary computer, reprogram and run the show. The unit no longer works and was out of warranty. I have another colleague who also has had a triple unit go, so I just caution heavy reliance on them without any backups.

The Datapath FX4 series takes a 4K out and splits it into 4x HD or your preferred ROI: Region of Interest.  To the computer it just sees a 4K display.  It also has bezel correction, and the ability via ROI to choose what part of the 4K image goes to each output.
They are rentable for short term projects which is nice when you need a backup.

I am having great success with this one: https://www.aja.com/products/ha5-4k

Specifically if you are looking at longer runs, the benefit is that it is already SDI, so you just need converters on the other end and cables to suit.

Cheers,
Freddy
