QLab can't see newly installed audio units

QLab isn't letting me select the new audio units I installed (only the apple ones are shown).  Is there some other step I need to take?  GarageBand can see them.

Mine are installed in

Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Components/

There is also a similar folder in the user library. Maybe your plug-ins are there and QLab doesn't look there? I don't think that I've had installers place them there for a long time...

Yeah, mine are there too.  I don't see anything like that under ~/ (if that's where you meant by "user library").

Anyway, I thought the fact that GarageBand could see them was significant.  After I installed the new plugins, GarageBand had to spend several minutes indexing them (or whatever it was doing) so I thought there might be a similar process for QLab.

It's there.  Apple decided to hide it by default in newer OSs.

Do the AUs support 64 bit? If not QLab will not be able to load them.
