Looking for some advice for a USB DMX interface.

I got an Enttec USB PRO MK2.  It doesn't work on my Mac.  At all.

Using a Windows 10 machine I can get Enttec's PRO-Manager to run and send DMX.

On my Mac I get a flashing red light that turns into a flashing white light.  QLab4 can see it.  I can select it to send DMX to.  But it doesn't work.

PRO-Manager on my Mac doesn't work.  Can't update firmware or send DMX.

Using a 2017 15" MacBook Pro.  OS 10.12.6.

Anybody have any experience with this device, or can someone recommend a device that works?

Thanks!

Hi,

Make sure you have a valid address for the instrument.

The white blinking light is OK.

When you say Pro-Manager doesn’t work does it launch?  V2.34.2-beta launches on 15” 2017 MacBook Pro running macOS 10.14.6.  I’m sorry my USB-A is at work so I can’t test any further on that machine.

On my 2015 MacBook Pro all is good.

You might try on the PC to update to Firmware 4.12 and then go back to the Mac.

Regards,

James

I did use a PC to update the firmware.

PRO-Manager launches.  It has frozen once or twice.

Usually it allows me to select the device from the drop down.  But trying to send DMX to the device through PRO-Manager doesn’t work.

If I ask it to Detect devices, it says no device found and then PRO-Manger is locked up and needs to be restarted.

Do you have another USB adapter you can try?

Holding off on the PRO-Manager...

Double check in Light Patch:
With an Instrument selected, make sure its address number is valid and its Output is set to USB.
In Device make sure Enttec USB PRO MK2 is selected with Universe 0.

In Light Dashboard:
Adjust the dimmer slider.  Check MK2 led for alternating green (universe 0) and white light.  The alternating green and white indicates the Enntec is sending to DMX 1 of the break out cable.

I had a similar problem when I tried to use my Enttec device with LXconsole.
Finally, it was a problem with the driver.
I had to activate it through Terminal

sudo kextunload -b com.apple.driver.AppleUSBFTDI

Just in case...
