I'm looking to create a slideshow (of images) using Qlab.
And I'm able to "display" the images one after the other,
However I'd like to include some "fade-over" functionality between two
(successive) images.
Now I thought I'd use the Animation cue for this and grow the opacity
level through this, but apparently, the Animation cue does not seem to
"action" for images (stills), only for movies (?). Even rotation or
size change won't respond.
I've tried both to set the video cue that masters the image(still) to
infinite loop, or unset it, both won't produce the desired effect.
Anybody have an idea how to do this ?
Please don't answer with "use another program", because this situation
is a simplification of the effect I'd like to have in my show (in
combo with other effects).
Furthermore, anybody who nows whether it's possible to "move" a target
from one "layer" to another ?
friendly greetings,
dd.

I tried something with slides and QLab and you can do it the same way as you should do with video, It was even possibly to make a turning fadeout to black screen with the inspector functions.
Remember when you want the slides to fade in/out you have to put the opacity of your slides at 0%.
I now use a "phillips" testscreen with animation fade as the first 4cue's to al my QLab show with video.
If you like i can send you the file.
Best regards

As Roland mentioned, still images are manipulated in the same way as
movie files--using the Animation Cue.
All the settings (opacity, rotation, size, etc) should apply to both
the same way. If you'd like you could send us a copy of your
workspace to sup...@figure53.com and we could take a look.
Regarding moving layers, you can set the layer using AppleScript, so
you should be able to change the layer of a Video Cue with a Script Cue.
Best,
Chris

I was/am testing this on my macbook, and discovered that when
attaching an extra display, the OS discovers it, as does Qlab, however
if his display is attached while qlab is already running, the display
is discovered (in the preferences pane), but "not completely": The
hard-patch can be performed, but the (new) display does not output the
images (nor video). quit qlab and restart, solved my problem.
