Hi guys,

I normally program audio not video in Qlab 3, but have been asked to do both on this show. We have a few videos that we wanted to invert the colors on (so the background is black, not white) I used the Apple effects, but it leaves a white stripe at the top and bottom of the video. Does anyone know how to make that go away? We want the black background so we don't get that hard projector edge... the white line kinda screws that up.

Thanks!

I'm confused. If you want a black background for when no video is playing set the desktop BG color to black. If video specifically might be better to do in post production software.

I am not a video designer, so I don't have any post production software. Which is why I would love to use the effects that are built into QLab 3.... but there seems to be a glitch, that leaves a stripe at the top and bottom of the video that doesn't invert.   The background of the computer is black already, that's not the issue.

So I am curious if anyone else has had this glitch, and if it's fixable.

Can you use custom geometry to slightly resize the video so that it overscans and places the glitch outside of the projected area?

Another option would be to adjust the shutters in the surface for the screen so that the glitch is being cut off.

If you inverted it may be that the source video had black strips on it which inverted are now white.

The shutters feature is an option. Just trim off the bad pixels.

Also Motion is $50 on the Mac app store and would allow very basic effects without much hassle. Doing effects in realtime adds a bit of additional processing which can impact playback. The less work that needs to be done real time the better.
