I was asked to present a couple of my productions to students at a music academy.
Today I noticed, that one of the samples I need to show was programmed under QLab 1...
I know about incompatibility of version 1 to 2 and 3, but is there still no possibility to transfer a .qlab file to the .cues format?
If not, could QLab 1 be started under OSX 10.10 and if yes, is it possible to download it from the site?

Thanks for all your hints - it's a pity, but I would really depend on this one production for the lecture...

Having just checked QLab 1 will start under OS X 10.10 not idea if it
works properly or not.

Figure 53 no longer offer any version of QLab 1 for download,
unfortunately I no longer have a copy of the free version of QLab 1,
only 1.3.5 which was the last version and requires a license.

QLab 1 workspaces cannot be opened or imported into QLab 2 or 3.

Also, QLab 1 is about ten years old now and hasn't been in development
for about seven years. QLab 2 isn't even in development; it's not
compatible Mac OS 10.11 and we do not have any plans to update it.

I really enthusiastically encourage you not to spend any time on working
with QLab 1. It was a great program, and we will all remember it fondly.
Like Hypercard and MacPaint.

Best

Hi Thomas,

I tried writing you off list but Google tells me the email address you wrote from “doesn’t exist” ?

Sorry Chris, just noticed that google groups still used an outdated e-mail address...

As for QLab 1: I found an installer file in my archives and tried to install it under OSY 10.10.5 - it works like a charm! I simply had to relink the audio files and that was it! :-)

@Sam: of course for actual projects I  only work with the latest version of QLab ;-) But for the lecture (it's all about how systems like QLab changed and influenced the way of working for sound designers) this very first production I made in 2007 with QLab 1 is essential.
I'm glad I can show it now! :-)

If you think you might give that lecture again, you might want to screen record the examples you need in case you can't get Qlab 1 to run sometime in the future....
