I'm very happy to announce a brand new application to our lineup: QCart.
We think it's a nice companion to QLab. We're pricing it at 50% off as an introductory deal.
Feedback welcome!
Best,
Chris

Some suggestions: could you add a few extras?
I'd like a nasty squeaky noise when I press play, programable wow and flutter, sudden unexpected stops, long delays in resetting to the top of cues, variable cue-tone bleed-thru into audio channels, added tape hiss, a NR switch that loses all the top end along with the hiss, and a random clattering noise to signify that the operator has just knocked over a pile of carts.
Then it'll be just like the old days...
Seriously, a nice piece of work; well done - again.
Regards,
John
Now there is.

Is the idea that you can have both Qlab & Qcart side by side on the screen
without any issues other than screen space?
Nutty Nutcracker might just be a fun experience this year:)

Some of these we're aiming at adding for 1.1 (which is also when we'll discontinue the discount).
As a general point of protocol, would people want us to start a separate list for QCart discussions? Seems like a great community here, and similar products, but I don't want to spam folks with unwanted email more than we already do. :-)
Better hit the hay. Been a long week.

I would think it should be inserted per cart so each one can be it's own
thing but so far I can't figure out how to insert one.
If the AU plugins are on the main buss & are cart dependent, I'm not
hearing the plugin.
I did try to drag a plugin onto a cart but it just crashed Qcart so
obviously I'm missing something.
Is it possible to have a load to time function?
I can see how this might be a great "rehearsal" tool for dance companies &
schools performing musicals to recorded music.
Also if there was a way to import (in order) the carts from Qcart into
Qlab with the base levels & beginning & ending times maintained, that
would make it easy to start with Qcart & graduate into Qlab once a certain
"certainty" is reached during rehearsals.
How cool!

i am in favor of keeping the qcart commentary on the same list as qlab, at least for now.

Seconded.
Is version 1.2 with video playback coming soon? ;)

Since this is our first application that could potentially reach a larger market, the app store may be justified. We're definitely considering it.
My biggest concerns with the app store are:
1) It prevents us from rolling out rapid updates, for bug fixes.
2) It prevents us from contacting customers who may need help but do not contact us directly. For example, it has become a common issue among developers I know that someone will leave an App Store review detailing problems they are having, which the developer would be able to easily fix or clarify, but there is no way to contact the customer. I know at least one developer who removed his app from the store entirely because this became too frustrating and prevented him from providing the level of customer support he desired.
Therefore, we're definitely considering the App Store for QCart, but at the very least we'll want to spend some time to make sure we go in prepared.

I kind of meant iOS, actually: iTunes store, not App Store. I've been disappointed with the App Store: it needs to automatically check for updates like Software Update does, instead of relying on you to periodically open it and check the Updates tab... It seems like App Store apps can't check for updates automatically themselves - and you're right that they often end up lagging behind the current versions available direct from the manufacturer.

Especially if there was a SKIP BACK feature that could RR X seconds.
Whatever cue / cues is playing, button X = SKIP BACK 10/ 15/ 20/ 30 secs.
Then being able to import the list into Qlab as a starting point of order,
level & adjusted cue length would be super D duper!!!

With a cue selected, click in the waveform to place the playhead there. Not as simple as a button, but tons better than holding rewind on a CD player. Just like "V" to preview in QLab.

Then just use the chapter list to jump back & forth as needed.

Oh, and Air display - we use it for presenter countdowns from qlab -
they never seem to figure out that we have control over the imagery -

I'll let Chris touch on the video question. I just thought I'd point out that while QCart is Lion-friendly, you don't need Lion to run it. It will work on Snow Leopard as well.
