I'm loading a bunch of mp3's for pre show music. I've had a number of them truncate the waveform after about 1 minute or so.

The settings window shows the waveform just ending, the rest of the window is blank up to the length of the track. the settings start time and end time show the correct timing of

the track.

Playing the files in finder, they play fine and are complete. Could this be a Lion thing? I just upgraded.

What version of QLab are you on? Truncation of MP3 files when played
using the routines QLab uses is a long standing bug in the OS which
dates back along way before Lion. QLab 2.3.7 warns you of this the
first time you attempt to add an MP3 file to a project.

It is recommend that you do not use MP3 files and if you must use
source material supplied in this format that you cross code it to
another format before using it with QLab.

Ah, OK- thanks I'm on 2.3.6, didn't get the warning. I'll bounce them all out to aif.

Hi David,

This is caused by a bug in QuickTime which Apple has acknowledged but declines to fix. The most recent version of the program will warn about it when importing an MP3 file.

The workaround is to convert to a different format (e.g. WAV).

We'll be able to fix this in the future by avoiding QuickTime.

Apologies for the trouble,

Chris
