Hi

I'm new to Qlab...I'm trying to fad out a video cue... no joy.... I see
the progress bar on the fade cue move but at the end of the fade cue the
video stops abruptly? is it possible to fade video out...? can't find
anywhere in manual to help

best Gerry

Gerry,

In order to fade video in (under settings tab) start with the video cues
opacity @ 0

Next, add an animation cue behind it (timed out with auto continue) to
bring the opacity of the animation cue up to 100 or whatever the desired
level is.

Then use another animation cue to take the opacity back down to 0 & select
"stop target when done" box (if you don't need to fade it back up again).

So for a fade up & down,

video cue - opacity 0
animation cue 1 - opacity 100
animation cue 2 - opacity 0

You will need to trigger them manually unless you program using autowaits
/ continues to do it automatically.

Can anyone think of a reason why this wouldn't work?  specifically, it looks like the fade that's meant to bring the opacity up from 0 to 100 isn't working -- i never get to see the video.

- i can play the video straight
- i can play the video if i set its opacity to, eg 20%
- i can fade the video out

but nothing I do seems to be able to increase the opacity up, from either 0 up to 100, or 20% up to 100, or 20% up to 99%...

HP

but what doesn't seem to work is fading up, from 0 to 100

Yes I can

Are you using relative fades

A cue at 20% needs a fade to 500% to be at full

A cue at 1% needs a fade of 10000% to be at full

A cue at 0% will never fade to full so begin it at 1%

figured it out!  I was using "relative fade" instead of "absolute fade".
