a group set to auto follow is acting like it's set to auto continue

Hi all,

I have a group set to the "start first" mode that I have set to auto follow.  I would think that it would act like other cues set to auto follow, that is, it would start the next cue when it finishes playing, but instead the next cue starts as soon as the group cue is triggered.  This seems like pretty basic functionality, so I imagine I must be doing something wrong because I haven't found any other posts about this.

Any advice would be appreciated.

thanks!
Ben

Hi Ben,

Please send a copy of the workspace to sup...@figure53.com and we’d be happy to take a look.

A start first group has no duration, so it cannot autofollow. after the duration of its contents.

A playlist group or  timeline group will work in the way you expect.

Oh, whoops — I missed the “start first” detail in my quick scan. Thanks Mic!

Hi all,

Very cool!  Thanks for that insight.  I didn't realize that QLab has no way of knowing when media inside those types of groups finish playing.  I switched the group mode over to timeline and it does indeed work as I expected now.  Thanks so much!

Ben
