Hi all
Sorry for the slow reply today.. It is the usual start of technical rehearsals etc and I am only getting to this now.
I actually figured out the issue. As we had just upgraded to Qlab 5 (design wishes at late notice), I figured the issue might be in a setting or similar and most definitely in my knowledge gap.
I was looking through various elements in a troubleshooting capacity and I discovered my issue last night but I could not test till this morning. I saw something in Qlab cookbook that made me go aha!
The issue was with me as I do not know the newer version enough. I have been practicing but like everything, you have to use it for real to make the mistakes.
I had set up the network(s) correctly and this was fine.
In the OSC ACCESS tab, there is the option for passcode with the 3 boxes of VIEW, EDIT, CONTROL. . I did not have these checked as I believed that this region only pertained to having a passcode in place. My set up is quite small with no real need for the passcode and I had deleted the option of the passcode but I did not realise that the 3 x boxes had to be ticked regardless of whether you wish to have a passcode or not.
Once I ticked the three boxes, the network was opened up and all came together.
Again, I was rushing into set ups with the usual no time attached and was relying on my roughish knowledge of Qlab 4.
I would ask that may be a note or comment here might be a thing? A simple heading to ensure people know to tick the relevant boxes etc? I a random user and this might trip up someone else again.
I am attaching a simple screen shot of the area in question.
Thanks for coming back to me and to the DM's received.
