Anyone used a Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 yet?  Looks like a nice, 10 Analog outs plus 8 on ADAT and 2 on S/PDIF...

the 26 (according to Tested Hardware) seemed to have some issues:

---

A bug with the Saffire Control software, on a mac, means that after a power cycle, there is no audio output. Solution: Open and close Saffire Control. So not so good in a show environment!

I'd rather avoid that...

Haven't used the 40, but based on my experience with the 26 (two of
them, actually), I won't ever. In addition to the bug mentioned below,
which I personally never ran into, I did run into it not wanting to
sync up to word clock unless you added its control panel app as a
login item, in which case it would switch back to external clock when
the control panel launched.

The control panel app would also repeatedly lose communication with
the Saffire, and require reconnections and power cycling in various
mysterious combinations to sync back up. Which made setting them up a
headache.

Finally, others here in the past have reported issues with build
quality, and having to open them up and reseat ribbon connectors to
make everything happy.

Focusrite is dead in the water as far as I'm concerned.

I've got one in my rig, and no problems thus far (2 or 3 years now).  We also picked one up early last year for a Qlab rig at UMKC, and I've yet to hear of any issues with it (they liked it so much I believe they've since bought 2 more).
You can also set it up as a standalone unit (i.e. to just use it for A/D or D/A if you wanted, without it begin hooked into a computer), which can be very handy at times.
