Desktop via QLab

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for a clean way to show my Mac screen through QLab during lectures and workshops.
I’m aware that I could simply switch macOS between extended desktop and screen mirroring, but I’d prefer to avoid this, as switching between mirrored and non-mirrored modes can cause interruptions, black screens or changes in the display configuration.
My goal is to be able to switch seamlessly between:
- prepared material played back from QLab, such as videos, images or presentations
- a live view of my Mac screen, so I can demonstrate the use of different software applications in real time
Ideally, I’d like the Mac screen to behave like just another video source or cue inside QLab, so that I can switch between it and other QLab content without changing the macOS display configuration.
Is there a reliable way to achieve this directly in QLab, for example via a Camera Cue, Syphon, NDI, or another method?
What setup would you recommend for a stable lecture/presentation environment?
