So, the "Duck audio of other cues" trigger is a great addition but I'm really feeling like it falls a bit short in its functionality. Allow me to explain:

A typical scenario for me would be Cue 1 - Music... Cue 2 - voice over, with the duck other cues box selected to duck then restore Cue 1. The issue here is if I am delivered a voice over that no silence leading in to the actual voice, the music duck doesn't happen quickly enough.

I think an easy way to fix this would be to set a pre wait on Cue 2 and have the duck trigger on the pre wait. That is not currently how the duck option behaves. As of now the duck won't trigger until the pre wait has ended and the action has begun.

Thoughts?

What about this:
-Cue 1 music cue
-Cue 2 Timeline Cue (with duck audio selected)
-inside timeline cue you put your voiceover cue but set it to start after 2 seconds (or whatever you set your fade time to in the ducking settings)

Wouldn’t that work?

Thats a good suggestion Chris, however, often times I find that I'm in a situation where Cue 2 can not auto cue and needs to be a second GO. As far as I know, timeline would not allow for that.

You can have your cue 1 (music) be the first GO and then have the cue 2 (timeline with voice over) be another GO.

Ah... I see what you’re saying now... I’ll have a look at that tomorrow.

Thanks!

Ok, I've tested this out and its a solid method. The duck trigger needs to be selected on the Group itself, not the VO cue.

Thanks Chris!
