Tonight we previewed and had Qlab crash 4 times. I don't have logs unfortunately because they weren't at the forefront of our minds when crashing occurred (switching to back up whilst relaunching much higher). We are running 2 projectors, a USB computer Cam, midi cues for lighting and audio over firewire (echo audiofire 8). The weird thing is that the crashes are usually only when audio is in use and not any of the vision. The most audio files that are ever in use is perhaps 8. OS is 10.8.4, mac mini Dual core i7 2.7GHz with 8 gig of ram and 7200rpm drive. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what may have caused this? I did have a few crashes earlier in the day but that seemed to be when my external hard drive was on the desktop which apparently can affect performance in Mountain Lion (i'm still in snow leopard land) or when I was stopping all cues and firing the next cues I wanted to hear straight away.
Would running the show files off an external drive be of high importance and/or value? Is there any reason the audiofire could be the cause? Does Qlab 3 have issues with different sample rate files (I might have the occassional 44.1 but most are 48k)?
