Hey guys,

We are currently working on a theatre production, where we were asked to project a 1080p stream from a GoPro Action Cam via Wifi, so that we don't have to use additional hardware to transmit the signal.

I already found out, that I at least need a GoPro Hero 8 to stream 1080p via RTMP and how to get it into VLC and OBS.

Is there any way to use a Camera Cue for this?
Are there other Action Cams you know of, that are more suitable for the task?

Thanks for your help,
Lukas

You can get an RTMP feed to function as a camera cue by piping it out as a virtual webcam using OBS. Bring the RTMP feed in and then turn on the virtual camera. Then you can detect that camera in QLab.

If I were in your shoes, though, I’d probably output that camera feed from another laptop and either capture it in QLab through the use of a capture card or pipe it into a video mixer so I have a bit more control if the camera becomes unreliable.
