Newbie: Audition Window not showing video cues

Hi,

I have cue list that works fine when I am hooked up to my theatre's projector. When I want to work with the cue list at home, I open the workspace, and as expected all the cues patched to the projector pop up with the broken cue crosses. So I open the Audition Window, the crosses all disappear, however when I run the cues none of the videos show in the Audition Window. The sound plays fine. What am I missing?

I am on 10 month old Macbook Pro2.9 ghz Intel Core i7, OSX 10.8.5, 8gb ram (not sure what othe info to give you)

Video files are H264 quicktime and all play lovely with projector connected, just not in the Audition Window

If I open a new workspace which doesn't have the projector connected and drop in one of the video files the Audition Window works fine. I haven't tried a new workspace with the theatre projector set up in it. Will do tomorrow.

Just wanted to know if I am forgetting something.

Hi Simon Same issue over here. Running OSX 10.8.5 and QLab 3.0.16. Did worked in 3.0.5

Here is an update.

Andy at F53 recommended I updated to Qlab 3.0.16 as I was a few  builds out of date. Running the update and opening the show workspace and all the cues had forgotten their link to the theatre's projector. I closed it without saving. I have just been back to the venue and connected to the projector. All was fine with the audition window working.

 Just returned home, reopened the workspace, all the cues are still linked to the theatre's projector and the audition window is working fine.

The issue here is a problem in how single-screen surfaces, which are automatically generated, are handled. When the display they're connected to disappears, the surfaces also disappear, causing cues to be broken when you work from home. The workaround solution for now is to create a new surface, add a screen, and use that surface in your cues. Because it's a custom surface, it won't disappear when the screen it's using disappears. This will most likely be handled differently in QLab 3.1, which is currently in progress.
