I am using QLab version 3.2.10 and have a Pro Audio License.  The Audio output patch is set to the firewire that is connected to the sound board.  I know for a fact that the output works as music from my computer plays to the board and amp system just fine.  However, when playing through cue lab, no sound is sent through the board.  I am not a sound engineer, but I believe the problem is in cue lab.  When the audio is played through the computer's speakers, QLab works fine so the audio is not muted.  Is there a setting I am missing?

Hi Julie!

The audio in QLab proceeds through several steps on its way to the audio device, and it can help to check each place when troubleshooting output. You can find the steps listed at the top of this page:

The two places on that list I’d check first are the cue routing and the device routing.

- Do you see level meters in the cue outputs in the cue?

- If you play around with the routing in the cue and the routing in the device, can you get output by routing to different channels?

Hello Julie, Ethan, Nick, and all

First of all, Julie, I hope the link that Chris posted was helpful to you. If not, please do write to us at sup...@figure53.com and we’ll help you out as quickly as we can.

Second, Nick, while I can understand your frustration to a certain degree, I have to say I do not think your reply was appropriate.

To begin with, Ethan didn’t give you any reason to assume that he *hadn’t* read Julie’s post. Asking what board she’s using is a valid question that could be relevant to her question, so it’s not out of line for him to ask.

But really, regardless of what someone says or asks, it’s a very aggressive act to reply by quoting the same sentence three times in increasing font size. It seems as though the main purpose of a reply like this is to make the person feel bad, rather than to earnestly help raise the quality of the group overall, which I know is what we all want.

Our hope for this group is that it’s a place where honest questions will be met with respectful answers, and criticism will be offered with kindness and good intention. We respectfully ask that all members aspire to that ethic.

Thanks
Sam
