Working with one designer (and worked with a few previously) who creates a cue spreadsheet for either themselves, or a stage manager, or a board op... Whomever.
At the moment, it looks like the only way to keep it up to date is to have someone (me) edit the spreadsheet in real time during tech to keep it in parallel with the actual cues in the QLab file.
Is there a magic way someone might have to export info such as cue numbers, names, Durations in CSV or similar which could be imported into a spreadsheet, database, etc, blah, blah, blah, which could then be distributed?

If not, I'll form this more properly into a feature request.

Thanks,

IMG_0609.jpegYou can copy cues, in QLab and paste directly into a, spreadsheet to get a rudimentary record

The QLab to Excel section of this Cookbook chapter

Is a fairly comprehensive starting point for what you describe in your question.

It solves a couple of really important export problems, preserving and showing nested group structures in the spreadsheet, and differentiating levels in fade cues that are set to actively fade (as opposed to levels that are set but not active.)

Obviously a spreadsheet that displayed the value of every parameter of every cue in a cuelist would have so many columns it would be virtually unreadable, (you could use up to 1625 columns just for all the crosspoint settings of an audio cue)  but this chapter   shows you how  to construct scripts that will include all the information that is required for any specific and realistically practical cue list export.

The cookbook script above will certainly do what you want, although I would think during a tech almost any export would be out of date as soon as you have distributed it.  So might be better to approach this via giving people access to live read only view of the cues.  You can do this using Cue View - which supports QLab, EOS and other common equipment used in theatre. It's free and runs on most OS (Mac, Windows, linux). Pretty simple to set up. Also saves paying Microsoft for Excel!
You can find cue view (latest v 1.2.2) https://github.com/stagehacks/Cue-View/releases/tag/v1.2.2
If people have iPads you could also use Qlab remote - which for viewing cue list I think is free.

Thanks, all!
Mic, That all looks a bit mesmerizing. I grew up programming various languages, but haven't delved into Mac scripting yet. But that would give me incentive.
In the meantime, I'm going to try the simpler copy/paste and check out Paul's suggestion, and see if that's sufficient. I imagine so.

Thanks again!
