Hi Alex,

Welcome to the list. You're looking for the MIDI trigger on an individual cue. You'll need a Pro MIDI license to enable this feature. You can see it in the documentation here:

Cheers,

I don't want it to act as my "GO" button as many people use during a performance, but rather to trigger the same sample over, like I would by assigning something to the "X" key on my computer's keyboard, etc.

Hi Alex

There is a way round the midi license for simpler tasks I've set up for one person shows who love qlab but can't afford the full bundle or are not sure the midi side will work out. You can download a little old freebie called midistroke that converts midi into qwerty and sends to the active app. Using this you can set a hot key for your sample in qlab and set your pedal to send either a note on command which is easiest or a prog change into midistroke and set it to trigger your hot key in qlab.

It works in snowleop but cant vouch for lion - though i was surprised it loads i just havent got any midi attached to my lion test drive

Use midi monitor to double check what midi notes and numbers are created and read the blurb first but once it works it keeps going. It is a pain to program so no competition for the midi license once you see the possibilities
