Loving playlist cues, but have an issue with how crossfading videos works.
I often find myself building preshow slide loops with the Playlist cues, but the crossfade doesn't really flow well with slideshows because if for example you have a white background and say a logo in the corner on every slide and are cycling through different content, as it crossfades, your white background dips towards black and back up as you get to the next slide.

The only work around I've manage that still uses Playlist groups is to manually set the fade profile of the slide going out to stay at 100% until the slide coming up is at full, and then dropping it down to 0, this doesn't work very well because you have to drop it down at the end of the fade curve and can't put keyframes (Not exactly the right term) at the end of the curve.

Anyone have a good work around?

The other thing that I would like to see would be a "Dip to black" Fade profile that has the outgoing go all they way out before the incoming starts coming up. that one I can usually manage to fudge together manually, but would be nice if it was just an option in the dropdown.

Curves and Layers will achieve all you want

Bottom Layer
Fade in faster than fade out

Dips can be achieved in much the same way

Yeah, that's what I've done, I guess I'm just wishing it was a bit easier. Thanks for everything you do for the community Mic

Another option is to use a timeline group in which you set the layer of all the slides to bottom, as well as enabling fade and stop peers with your choice of fade time. You can then set them all to auto-continue, and use the post wait on all the slides to act as the slide duration, and then after the last slide, put a start cue targeting the first slide.

Takes slightly longer than making a playlist, but quicker than mucking about with curves.

I’m pretty sure there’s a cookbook article that describes this technique, also.

This doesn’t address the dip to black idea, unfortunately.
