I started using the Shimbol TP Max last year and everything was fine but now it is glitchy when it tries to connect. Anyone here have experience using it or maybe something else more reliable for wireless video transmission?

I’ve never used that product, but it’s about 25x cheaper than the Teradek Bolt which is the wireless video system that I have used. For me, the Bolt was 100% reliable and very low latency.

Price is not necessarily a major determinant of quality, but I think it’s a sign when a product that isn’t working reliably is wildly cheaper than a known good competitor.

I’m not specifically saying the Shimbol TP Max is bad, nor in fact am I saying the Bolt is good. Only that I’ve never heard of one, and used the other with no complaints.

Ok and if I were to get that, what else do I need to connect it to my MacBook Pro ?

I’d like to continue using an iPhone 12 as my camera.

Is this possible?

not heard of this device but a quick glance at the reviews shows it's mainly good for still images and for limited distance (<100') which is sort of what you'd expect for the price.
You could use an HDMI adapter to get video from your phone but a more sensible option would be to use a NDI camera app and a dedicated 5GHz wifi network. App is available for iOS and Android and you can take NDI video input straight into QLab with a camera cue. Providing you don't go crazy with the resolution (keep to 1080p) it works reasonable well in a not too busy wifi environment.
