Hello all!

New to this forum.  I need to know if I'm doing something wrong or the Matrox support guy is right and I have to shell out the cash for something else...

I'm running a MacBook Pro [one on 10.6 and one on 10.9, alternately] > Mini Display port out with a MDP to VGA adapter then VGA into the TripleHead2Go Digital Edition VGA in. Out from the TH2G I'm running two projectors.

Here's my dilemma - I can get output image on one of the projectors but the other is receiving no signal. I reversed the outputs and the other projector gets the signal just fine so it has to be a TH issue. The software just keeps saying that one or more of the outputs is not connected, but they are. Firmware and software are in their correct [most current] versions. Matrox Tech support is telling me that the issue is my MDP>VGA adapter - that the adapter is corrupting the signal in to the TH2G. It's an Apple adapter, no knock off.

So... am I missing something and the tech guy is wrong?  Or do I sell the TWO TH2G units I have and get the DP version?

Thanks for any help you can provide!!!!

Firstly have have you wound the resolution down far enough?

The maximum resolution that the MiniDisplayPort->VGA adaptor can do is
1920x1200 in order to get it to work you'd need to wind the resolution
down on the TH2GO to either

1600 x 600 (2x 800 x 600)

or

1920 x 480 (3 x 640 x 480)

Secondly have you checked and replaced the cables on the output of the
TH2GO. It's relying on the DID information coming from the display
device and this is notoriously shoddy and prone to breaking over
substandard VGA cables. Also try different output devices in case one of
your projectors is producing dodgy DID information.

If neither of those helps then the next possibility is to try borrowing
a MiniDisplayPort->Dual Link DVI Adaptor. This would allow you to run at
higher resolutions as well.

The only other thing I can suggest is finding a Windows PC with a native
VGA output and attempting to reproduce the issue with that. If you can
reproduce it with a supported environment then you can raise a new case
with Matrox about it.

If all of the above fails then I'm afraid you may be stuck with getting
the Displayport version of the TH2GO.

Unless I am misunderstanding it sounds like one or two of the outputs on the tripled isn't working. As far as I know the VGA triplehead can't be reconfigured as a dual head like the DP version.

There is also a limit on the resolution of the triple head on a VGA adapter. Does it work if you try a 2400x600 setting or a 1920x480,

If your adapter is faulty and you only want to run 2 projectors then a dual head analog edition is like 50 dollars on ebay

It's not the analogue VGA triple head, that can only do dual head with a
special Windows only tool that only works on some GPUs.

This is the analogue input on a digital TH2GO which does have dual head
as a standard feature as far as I can tell even under OS X.

Sorry, I missed the digital edition in the original post.

I still think that if you are only doing 2 projectors at up to 2048x768 (1024x768 each)  then a DHTG Analog off ebay is the most reliable solution.
