A friend of mine who is programming a theme park show on Qlab for the first time. Today I explained the Load To Time option & also the Load cue.

He had stated that during rehearsals I knew that the director would want to jump around in the cue list so the load cue seemed like the solution.

He just wrote & said that now the video department wants to control things...

Is it possible to do the equivalent of LLT for MTC? If so, a brief explanation of how to set it up & make it work would be great so I can just forward it.

I presume Qlab doesn't support SMPTE. If it does, an explanation for making that work would be great too.

Thanks in advance,

I could never get load to time to work with video cues unless you do it manually with the slider.
you'll need to enter a start time in the video cue settings instead.

as for LTC timecode. it works fine in qlab. watch out for hum on the timecode line as usually video and audio are on different mains.
I always put a hum eliminator inline just to be safe..

Just as a quick SMPTE clarification, put the LTC timecode on an audio track and play it out through an analog output on your interface/system. that way timecode and pgm material is always in sync.

I don't know for sure but I would presume that Qlab is only serving audio purposes & there is a video setup next to it.

In that case, how does one keep Qlab in line with the video side of things (if it's even possible)?

Thanks,

You have to let QLab be in charge. QLab can't chase timecode, it can
only trigger events at fixed points on a timeline. If you need audio
and external video to be in sync, QLab *must* be the timecode master.
And if you need to load timecode to time, you must use pre-recorded
LTC audio, as Janne suggested.
