Hi Everyone,

I have video lag issue for a show here is my configuration:

I'm using Qlab 4
I want to play a 1280 x 720 video (Apple 422 Proxy)
on a 1280 x 720 surface,
displayed on 2048x1080 Christie projector

The video is very light only 30mo.

The computer is a brand new macbook pro 13""
3,1ghz Intel core i5
8go Ram
Intel Iris Plus Graphics 650 1536mo

I have a Hdmi cable plugged from the projector to an HDMI / usb-C adaptor.

I have no idea why I have video lag issue on this one. The video plays ok on quicktime, in both screens, lcd display and the projector.
Is it the graphic card of the macbook ? I thought it would be enough.

Any suggestions  ?

Thanks a lot.

Hi Olivier,

Can you describe in more detail what you mean by lag?

Do you mean:

 - dropped frames or stuttering playback?

 - a delay before the video starts playing?

 - something else?

Best,
Chris

I’m not sure I’m able to tell the difference between dropped frames or stuttering playback.
But it's definitly not a delay problem.

I had doubts on the HDMI adaptor for new USB-C port, but since the video is playing allright on the projector display with VLC or quicktime I’m not sure.
Could it be the mac that is not powerfull enough ? i’d be surprised..

It’s working fine on my computer that has NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 Mo and Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 Mo.
But on this computer i have dropped frame even on a 150ko mp4 file.
