hi

i'm trying to trigger multiple cues with a apc 40 midi controller. the point is, that i can't choose on which channel the cue listens, i'd like do play different cues on different outputs, that's why i need to play more than one cue at the same time i i fully want to control when..

is it possible to use up to 9 midi-channels to capture inputs? by now qlab takes only the note, on any channel, that causes to play all ques/files on the same time triggered on this note.

on the outputs, i can choose on which channe i want to send the action (and it works properly..)

does somebody has the same problem or even bette, has somebody a solution for this issue?

It looks like the APC40 sends note-ons across 8 MIDI channels for the 8 columns of buttons, whereas QLab can only accept MIDI control on a single MIDI channel at a time. You're going to need to remap the incoming MIDI data – or use a different controller, eg: Launchpad!

You could use Ableton Live to trigger different MIDI clips on each button, all sending different MIDI notes on a single channel via the IAC bus to QLab; or, you could do much the same thing with MidiPipe (http://www.subtlesoft.square7.net/MidiPipe.html). You are unfortunately onto a bit of a loser trying to use a multi-channel MIDI device to control QLab…

I've not used MIDI controllers with QLab so I may be wrong but couldn't you attach each note to a start cue (in a discrete cue list) and have that start cue reference discrete cues, cue lists, &c. as needed. That would give you up to 40 options.
