to QLab
Hello again. I'm re-stating my problem because I don't know the solution. I'm working with the latest version of Qlab 5 and a Mac Studio 2023 M2 Ultra running Sequoia 15.5.
I'm using it on a project where we have 4 or 5 outputs going to an E2 and from there they're distributed to different LED displays.
The problem is that there can be micro-dropouts and I lose the signal from some of the outputs. Qlab doesn't indicate this, nor does the red x appear. I'm investigating, and I think it's a problem with the computer. I've tried USB-C to HDMI connectors. After seeing several posts in the group, I'm now using USB-C to DP connectors, and the same thing happens. On the other Mac Studio I have as a backup, I connect it with Thunderbolt dual HDMI. I have two, one Startech and one Lindy. The same thing also happens. It's not constant, but Project Manager has already warned me a couple of times, as it happens at least once a day. I don't know what to do. Has anyone tried a setup with Qlab and a Mac Studio that doesn't do this? I don't know whether to use docks, other brands of cables, or what other solution there might be. I've thought about using a Sonnet Thunderbolt box with a Decklink. I need at least one 4K output and three 1080p outputs, but it seems incredible to me that after investing so much in a computer, I have to spend more money on a solution just to be able to use it at work.
Thank you very much.
