More lockdown madness.
This is a thrown together VJ style Piano trigger for playing Video clips from a MIDI keyboard with opacity mapped to incoming note velocities.
White Notes C2-C4 are the video clips
Black Notes in those octaves are Modifiers for scale and speed.
Occasionally images will stick ON. You can clear them with key C#2. I don't think there is currently a programming solution to stop this from happening.
It will work straight out of the box (you will have to set your video display to the surface) with example content. (DIY Futurist Cinema style).
The main things of interest are:
It uses a Cue Cart in another novel way. You can drag new video files onto the keys represented by the buttons in the cart. Hit update and those files will then be allocated to the keys in the main player
The opacity of the video cues is dependent on the velocity of the incoming MIDI notes, this is achieved just through QLab network cues and OSC.
The cues retrigger as in a proper VJ app, but also fade in and out , which is often tricky to do even in video playback software that is designed from the ground up for live VJ use.
The Generator cue list programmed itself from the script cue (numbered GEN) in that list.
It's another extreme boundary stretching project. It's fun to play with, but I wouldn't use it, as it is, for anything serious!!
