I am attempting to run QLab on a new 2021 16" M1 MacBook Pro running Monterey 12.2. I cannot get microphone access in QLab. I have installed my Audio/Video license to the laptop.
I unzip the QLab download and move the app to Applications.
When I run QLab the 1st time I get a warning about it being downloaded from the web. I click Open. It then installed Rosetta.
Next
warning I get is QLab.app would like to access files on a network
volume.Probably because it sees other drives on my network. I click
Don't Allow. On the next attempt I tried with the network disconnected and I still got
this warning.
QLab then opens the Launch
Window. There is never a request to access the microphone. QLab does not
appear under Microphone or Camera in Security and Privacy. (It's in both in my Mojave laptop) It does show
under Files and Folder category in Security and Privacy but is
unchecked because I didn't allow that permission.
Logic is the only other app on this MacBook so far. It appears under Microphone
in Security and Privacy and the microphone is functional in the app.
I tried deleting com.apple.TCC from Application Support after reading various web searches on the microphone access problem. It clears all permissions for QLab and Logic but did not trigger the mic access request when QLab was run again. It did cause the request for Logic.
I'm stuck and at a loss as what to do next. I usually can get thru these type of issues. If anyone has any suggestions it would be appreciated. **Rant On--In my opinion this mic access thing is unnecessarily complicated. A simple +/- under the Mic and Camera section of Security and Privacy would make this so much easier. Other permissions have this option. But hey Apple knows better.--Rant Off**
