Hi all at Qlab
 a bit off topic

Just wondered if anyone has run Qlab with "Dante Virtual soundcard" say to a dante enabled yamaha LS9?
if so do you recommend it? pros/ cons? I know little about this and wondered if anyone here has knowledge of these things.

reason is I'm looking maybe for a way to bi-pass the soundcard thing and go direct into the desk via digital? any suggestions?
virtual soundcard seems quite cheap, also would Qlab recognize it?

Cheers

Loading in our first show with it doing Qlab to 01V96 next week. So far, no problems in testing, but will know more in a couple of weeks.

A couple others here have used it to reported good success. I just
sold a system using it, and as far as I know it's working fine now.
There were some issues with losing audio that, best we can tell, were
related to guaranteed sync; turning it off was correlational with the
problem going away (or at least as far as I've been told). I know at
least part of the design team from that first show is a fellow lister,
so maybe he'll weigh in, too.

I also know that Chris and the Dante folks are playing email tag to
try to suss it out. Both want to fix it, but the Dante programmers
have been slammed with a deadline on another project of some sort, so
it's next up on their hit list.

I am running a show on a Dante enabled 01V96 for 2 weeks now, 12 show
without any problems so far.
Running 6 channels from Qlab to the desk, 2 channels from the desk to
Ableton Live 8 and 2 channels back to the desk.

I just have to reboot my MacBook Pro every time when I plug in the 01V
to get the network running fine. Not a real problem for me since we
play at a different venue almost every day.

Using the wordclock from the Dante as master made the system more
stable en better sounding then using the 01V as master clock.
